Many got their first look at the new slot while visiting the Global Gaming Expo, where this subtle extension of the brand was on display at the Light & Wonder booth. Immediately, most could tell there was some volatility added to the bonus rounds, but the core game play is much unchanged. This is confirmed by the betting panel, with identical increments as the previous versions.
A closer look at the Huff & Even More Puff slot showed us that the game has actually undergone some significant changes beyond these things, with what appears to be a reductions in payouts from the original version. There is a new symbol replacement feature, which some player may not like as much as the original. What’s more is the that there are also two additional poker symbols, which makes it more difficult to achieve line hits due to the increased variety of symbols.
A less notable change was the replacement of traffic cones with measuring tape, maintaining the same number of semi-premium symbols. Overall, this shift seems to significantly decrease the focus on base game payouts, presumably to balance the bonuses. Speaking of, the bonus mechanism on the Huff & Even More Puff game remains familiar, with the ability to trigger it by landing six hats, functioning almost identically to before.
The main change is that if a hat lands where a mansion house border already exists, it upgrades another space on the reels (the most favorable one available) instead of awarding a prize payout of 10 times your wager, unless all 15 spaces have mansion borders, in which case it reverts to the 10x payout. Additionally, buzz saw symbols have been introduced, and landing three of them triggers a wheel spin.
