Recent wins on the Las Vegas Strip and in Northern California show that Pai Gow jackpots are hitting at historic rates. Several major casino properties have reported massive payouts to lucky table games players over the last few weeks, highlighting the growing popularity of progressive side bets on these specialty card games.
The largest of these recent payouts occurred at The Vanderpump Hotel, which recently opened on the Las Vegas Strip. On June 29, a visitor named Pam W. from Littleton, Colorado, secured a payout of $813,553. The lucky traveler hit the massive sum by landing a seven-card straight flush while playing Pai Gow Poker. The rare winning hand, which held a one in 676,066 mathematical probability of appearing, has put a spotlight on the potential size of modern Pai Gow jackpots. The winner told casino representatives that she plans to use the funds to finance a European river cruise.
Less than two weeks later, another six-figure win occurred further down the Las Vegas Strip at Horseshoe Las Vegas. On July 12, a regular Caesars Rewards member named Cynthia V. from Los Angeles won $118,005. Playing the game for only her tenth time, she managed to secure the progressive payout after being dealt five aces.
Meanwhile, Northern California has seen its own share of luck, especially with Face Up Pai Gow jackpots at Thunder Valley Casino Resort. In late June, the casino celebrated back-to-back progressive wins that occurred within just minutes of each other on the same day. Two players each hit five aces on the same table game, resulting in a combined payout of $261,000. The first player walked away with $135,440, while the second guest won $126,000 immediately afterward. The property later reported yet another five aces win on July 10, which awarded a guest $120,123.
These successive wins have drawn substantial attention from gaming enthusiasts who track the fluctuation of Pai Gow jackpots. Casino operators note that progressive table games continue to see rising participation because of these high-profile payouts. As more players participate in the optional progressive side wagers, the base jackpot totals accumulate more rapidly, setting up the potential for further record-breaking payouts across major casino markets in Nevada and California.
